Fixed Asset Information

The Fixed Assets allows you to enter and track certain fixed assets such as Land, Equipment, Buildings, Vehicles, etc. Currently, the system does not calculate depreciation for these assets. You have to enter that information manually.

General Info

Asset ID
Each asset must have its own unique ID. The ID can be from 1 to 10 characters in length. The general info page is the only place the asset ID can be entered or modified.

Description
Enter the asset description. The description can be from 1 to 30 characters long. The general info page is the only place the asset description can be entered or modified.

Asset Type
Choose one of the following unit types for this asset:

  • Autos and Trucks
  • Building
  • Field Equipment
  • Heavy Equipment
  • Office Equipment
  • Real Estate
  • Tangible Well Equipment

    Acquisition Date
    Enter the date the asset was brought into service.

    Original Cost
    Enter the amount the asset cost when you purchased it.

    Life
    Enter the life span of the asset in years.

    Salvage
    Enter the salvage value of the asset after its life span is up.

    New or Used
    If the asset was new when purchased choose New, otherwise choose Used.

    Depr Method
    Enter the depreciation method used for the asset.

    Accum Depreciation
    Enter the accumulated depreciation for the asset.

    Section 179
    Enter any Section 179 amount.

    Location
    Enter the asset's location.

    License Exp
    Enter the expiration date of the vehicle's license.

    License #
    Enter the vehicle's license number.

    Insur Exp
    Enter the date the vehicle's insurance expires.

    Serial #
    Enter the asset's serial number. (If applicable)

    Financed By
    Enter the entity that financed the purchase of this asset.

    Enter any free-form notes pertaining to this asset. The notes are unlimited.
