Company Information

A company information record in the company master file defines each company for which the Accounting Manager keeps records. Each company has its own set of data files.

Company Name
The name the company uses to do business. This is the name that will be displayed in the open company list. It is also the name that prints at the top of each report.

Phone/Fax Numbers
The company's phone and fax numbers. One or both of these numbers is required for 1099s or various other compliance reports.

Address
The company's business address. There are two lines for the address. Each line can be up to 40 characters long. Enter the street address in the first line and the P.O. Box address, if any, in the second line.

City/ST/Zip
The city, state, and ZIP code portion of the company address.

Tax ID
The company's federal tax identification number. This number is used when filing 1099, W2 forms, or various other compliance reports. If you don't have the tax identification available when adding the company, you can always add it later by going under Maintain> Company Information.

Agent
If your company processes the revenue distribution or accounting for the company and you want your company's name to be displayed at the top of the reports as an agent for the company being processed, enter your company's name here.

Contact Name
The person within your company to contact about the software.

Data File Path
Enter the fully qualified data path for the location of this company's files. Enter the path preceded by the drive letter on which the files will reside. The system will automatically assign a data file path based on the company name. It will take the first four characters of the company name and add "data" to create the directory name. Be careful when setting up multiple companies with similar names, as it will try and assign them the same data file path. If necessary, you can overwrite the data file path to avoid naming concerns.

Version
Shows the current version of the software you have.

Data is encrypted
The tax IDs within the software for the Company Information, Owner Information, Vendor Information, and other windows is encrypted on the tables behind the scenes. This is an added security measure to ensure that even if someone gains access to your computer they aren't able to recognize this sensitive information. This encryption was added in 2018. If the "Data is encrypted" message is displayed on this window, then your data has gone through this encryption process.

System Flags
Shows the current system flags of your version.

The system will not allow you to change the name of the Sample Company.
